Harvest Days at Battle Ground Village!
Harvest Days will be held at Battle Ground Village July 15-17, 2011,
including the 3rd annual 1/2 marathon, 8k, and Family Fun Run.
Harvest Days is a decades old celebration serving north Clark County. The event is put on by the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce in partnership with local civic, service and business leaders. The streets of Battle Ground Village are transformed into a carnival with rides and games for children of all ages along with arts and crafts, food and live musical entertainment. Fun for the whole family, the Harvest Days festival features a parade Saturday morning, free evening music & stage performances, concerts, food booths & vendors. Sunday morning take the family out on a two mile fun run or go for the gold in the 8K and 1/2 marathon. Sunday at noon the Show & Shine Classic Car Show draws hundreds of participants and spectators. The Harvest Days Show-n-Shine, sponsored by Riverview Community Bank & Cost Less Auto Parts will be located at Battle Ground Village (Battle Ground Community Library Parking Area) and limited to the first 100 cars to register! This three day event draws thousands of visitors to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of southwest Washington with easy access to the Lewis River, Mt. St Helens and surrounding countryside.
Register here for the 1/2 marathon, 8k, and Family Fun Run! The 1/2 marathon is a 13.1 run that passes the Rusty Grape Winery, through the countryside, down the heart of Main Street, starting and finishing in Battle Ground Village. The run will kickoff at 7:30 Sunday morning and allows 4 hours for runners to complete the course. The 8k is a 4.97 mile run starting at 8:00 am that loops around the Rusty Grape and back to Battle Ground Village.
CASH AWARDS to all Winners will be given! Top 5 overall Male and Female from the 1/2 Marathon and 8K will be given cash awards in the amount of $150, 100, 75, 50, 25. Age Division awards will also be given out to age categories (both male & female) as follows: 12 and under, 13 - 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, over 60. Afterwards, stay to enjoy the booth expo, carnival rides, outdoor market, music and festivities. Proceeds go to the North County Food Bank.
The Family Fun Run is a 2 mile jaunt south through Battle Ground Center, and provides an opportunity for families with children of all ages to participate in a family event. Registrants may register as a family unit, paying just one registration fee. Enjoy food, entertainment, and the Harvest Days festival after the run.
