The 2nd Annual Battle Ground Resolution Run attracted 187 participants to Battle Ground Village on Jan. 2. Participants completed either a 5K or 10K course and then enjoyed a buffet at Bones Steak and Chop House after the event.

Battle Ground, WA. Battle Ground Center, a new 108-acre mixed-use development located at Eaton Blvd and Commerce Avenue in Battle Ground, WA, was honored by the Vancouver Business Journal as Southwest Washington's Top Project. Construction costs are expected to reach $57 million when completed in 2009. Recognized as "a distinctive, mixed-use development at the burgeoning heart of Clark County," Battle Ground Village also hosted the journal's recognition event on July 24, the best-attended event the Vancouver Business Journal has ever sponsored (more than 350 registered attendees).
Developer of Battle Ground Center is The Gold Medal Group, with marketing and leasing by The Management Group. "We're creating a true-mixed use community with retail, medical and office buildings, live/work, green space and parks," said Dennis Pavlina, president of the Gold Medal Group. "It's an honor to be recognized as the Top Project."
David Gottfried, founder of the U.S. and World Green Building Councils was the keynote speaker at the Top Projects event. Gottfried's keynote speech addressed "The New World of Green," explaining how transformational change in how we conduct business, make products and manage our organizations is undergoing explosive growth. He also spoke at two invitation-only events hosted by Battle Ground Village.
The Vancouver Business Journal has produced Top Projects for the fifth straight year. Top Projects is the only event focused exclusively on construction and development activity in southwest Washington. The 2008 event honored projects that have broken ground between June 1, 2007 and May 31, 2008.
Battle Ground Village is a new 21-acre, 140,000-GLA open-air, mixed-use retail center that combines a classical European feel with modern, upscale retailers and restaurants reflecting the lifestyles of the Pacific Northwest. Battle Ground Village is part of the 108-acre Battle Ground Center, which also includes The Oaks at Battle Ground Village (40 live/work condominium units), Battle Ground Corporate Center (38-acre business park), Commerce East Industrial Park and Sixth Street Station (167 new single-family homes and duplexes). Battle Ground Center is developed with a focus on sustainability, including the use of sustainable construction products and methods, energy efficiency and clean air practices.

Portland, Or. Carmen Villarma, President, The Management Group, Inc. (TMG) has been chosen as Woman Executive of the Year in the $25 million and under category by the Portland Business Journal, based on nominations from the publication's readers and staff.
Villarma founded TMG with two employees in 1985. Headquartered in Vancouver with satellite offices in Portland and Kennewick, WA, TMG is now one of the leading full-service property management and real estate firms in the greater Portland/Vancouver area. In the last 23 years TMG managed and developed countless single- and multi-family units and numerous commercial projects. Today TMG has more than 14,000 residential single- and multi-family units and homeowner associations on its roster. Currently in development is Battle Ground Village, a new open-air, mixed-use community in Battle Ground, WA.
A dedicated professional, community leader and volunteer, Villarma serves on the Board of First Independent Bank and Washington State University's Diversity Council. Delta Computers Relocates to Battle Ground Corporate Center

BATTLE GROUND, Wa. TMG is please to announce the relocation of Delta Computers to its Commerce East Industrial Park development within Battle Ground Center.
Owners of Vancouver based Delta Computer systems have purchased a two-acre industrial site in Commerce East, the industrial portion of the 108-acre mixed used development known as Battle Ground Center. The construction of the building could begin later this year on the 20,000 sf facility, stated Steve Nyland, co-owner. Delta Computer designs, manufactures and sells motion controllers and equipment for industiral uses. Delta Computers is relocating from its EastRidge Business Park offices to the Commerce East Industrial Park. They join others tenant's such as Old Castle Glass, Ideal Foods and Trail Tech.

Battle Ground Village provides new location for Harvest Days

Battle Ground's Harvest Days, presented by the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce, will be in a new location for the first time this year. Due to construction of the city's new community event center, the event will be at Battle Ground Village, part of the 108 mixed use development know as Battle Ground Center. Battle Ground Village has offered several acres of property at SE Grace Avenue and SE Rasmussen Boulevard for a carnival, rock climbing, the annual book sale, a micro beer and wine garden, numerous craft and food vendors, a stage for entertainers, among many other activities. Harvest Days is July 17th-20th, with the annual parade July 19th.
